"Breakaway" (top) and "Bone Clone" live up to the "distinctive" designation for
the art of Elizabeth Asche Douglas in that they are  assembled from odds and
ends of wood culled from a cabinet-maker's scrap bin, along with a few bones
from the artist's kitchen.  They are constructed rather like shadow boxes, but
their backs are open, incorporating the surfaces on which they are hung into the
art.  They are 18" square with a depth ranging from four to seven inches.

Their engaging, provocative character make them perfect foils where people
gather.
